How are we doing in terms of women scientists involved in research worldwide? A fun interactive website from UNESCO Institute of Statistics has this information (and the supporting data) at your disposal. Worldwide women make up 30% of the research community (32% in North America and Western Europe). The U.S. does not have data, but my home country of Malaysia seems to be doing pretty well with women researchers making up 49% of the community.
